Lately, I’m writing more of the bad events happening around the online merchants. The later merchant is a International phone card company, trueroots.us, Branded under TATA.
Their website offer a deal as buy one phone card and get one free (which ends by the way Aug 25th 8:30 AM EST), so attracted by this offer, me and friends started entering the information. When I finally finish my information, it throwed an error and said the transaction never happened.
But my credit card account shows a pending authorization for the amount + taxes, So i called up the support and they convinced me, My AVS was failed and they don’t have any of my information so I cannot login into my account. But they were able to confirm the name, last 4 digits of credit card information etc…. This is kind of a weird answer, to me it looked like a bait.
For the sake of coincedence this exact event happened to my friend as well, so I’m confirming this is a online fraud bait.
They told me the transaction will be reverted back in next 42 hours, I’m going to see in fact if this really happens.
Anyway, it gets returned or not, this merchant is going to be reported to the credit bureau for investigation.

It’s very true. They have the worst service ever!!!! I bought a card from them today (christmas day, 2008) and wanted to talk to my parents. I had to wait for 3hrs before I could get a refund for my money because I could never use the card! I wish I had read your note before buying it.
Now they say I should wait for 5-7days. Two of the reps also hunged up on me when I called to complain and they seem not to know what they are doing!!! Never buy phonecard from them……DONT BE ATRACTED BY THEIR “BUY ONE GET ONE FREE”. That’s what made me go there too….

Exactly same thing happened with me . Trying to recharge account 10 times in last 3 days to avail mother day offer. But no access, called customer service n-number of times. No one picked the call. Even they pick the call..no resolution.
TATA is always fuc** company and management shd go to hell for cheating and online fraud. .

I am using Airtel callhome services which are really good. Voice clarity is awesome. They now have slashed tariffs to 1cent/min to India.
